State Game Breeding Station "Kotel" is situated in the most western part of the East Balkan range, 150 km from Bougas Airport, 220 km from the airport of Bulgaria's sea capital - Varna and 370 km from Sofia Airport. The landscape has a mountainous character with the forests are located on steep inclined terrainvarying in altitude from 250 to 1,128 m.The brad-leaved forest stands comprised of beech, Turkey oak and Italian oak dominate the coniferous forests of Scots and Austrian pine, spruce etc.
 Red deer, wild boar, roe deer, hare, fox, wolf, wildcat and beech marten are among the main wild habitants in the region of "Kotel". The Gange Breeding Station provides hunting of red deer, roe deer, and wild boar with reasonable trophy from 350 to 450 g and the tusk length of the wild boar from 20 to 23 cm. |
