It is situated in the Northeastern part of Bulgaria on the slopes of the Preslavsko - Dragoevska mountain - a sput of the eastern part of the Balkan range - the longest moutain range in the country. The area is about 18,700 ha. 
 
The nearest airport is in Varna - 120km. The distance from the capital Sofia is about 370 km. The main forest massif is located to the north of the town of Veliki Presslav where the Directorate of the Station is Shumensko plateau. 
 
The other areas are disperset among the cultivated agricultural lands to the west of the "Ticha" dam lake. 
 
Red deer, rod deer, wild boar, fox, jackal and wildcat are the most tupical representatives of the wildlife inhabiting the territory of the Station. Among the finest trophies gained here is one for red deer with weight of antlers of 12.30 kg and 236 points.
