Game Breeding Station "Rossitsa" is situated about 220 km from the capital Sofia, on the nothern slopes of the Central Balkan range which are covered with centuries-old beech forests and succulent mountainous meadows, cut by valleys and gullies. Its total area is about 17,000 ha and the relief is distinctively mountainous to alpine. The altitude varies from 350 to 1,850 m.
 The care provided for the stags, wild boars, roe deer and bears has been turned into a tradition. The wolves, permanent companions to the ungulates, show that truly wild nature is still alive in this marvelous nook in Bulgaria. The magic of the old Balkan, large stocks of big game, combined with a cosy hunting lodge and experienced guides provide excellent conditions not only for exciting hunting but also for recreation in this virgin nature. |
