Hunt in Bulgaria - it is not only a tradition.
 Bulgaria is rich in wildlife, immersed in picturesque game
lands. From the lowlands covered with lush forests, to the
sub-Alpine mountains capped with snow, here you will find
an extraordinary number and diversity of big game species.
That is why hunters in Bulgaria have recently received four
world records for Red Deer as well as records for Wild Boar
and Wild Cats.
Accommodations
 Hunting in Bulgaria is reminiscent of bygone days when it
was a lavish sport, enjoyed mostly by the wealthy. Here you
will find ample accommodations to suit the most discriminating
tastes. Nestled within lovely settings are 110 lodges, guesthouses
and other facilities that cater to about 3,000 hunters that
return annually. Accommodations start at the three star level,
with a good number at four and even five stars.
Game Breeding Program
 Organized hunting began in Bulgaria in 1960 with the establishment
of 39 game breeding stations and dedicated hunting grounds. The hunting preserves, which cover a good portion of the country, contain an estimated 16,000 Red Deer, 43,000 Fallow Deer,
71,500 Roe Deer, 45,000 Wild Boars, 2,200 Mouflons, 1,800
Chamois’s, 2,700 Capecaillis, 115,800 Pheasants, 313,000
Partridges and 36,000 Quails.
World Record Trophies
 Because so many hunters are proudly returning home with attractive
and quality trophies, Bulgaria is becoming the one of the
most desirable places to hunt. For example, recent world record
trophies obtaining in the country include: Red Deer 273.60
CIC points, Wild Boar 158.20 points, Wild Cat (skin) 82.99
points and second world Mouflon trophy 222.45.
